Ron Arad

Ron Arad: Restless explores three decades of Arad’s work from his early post-punk approach to his highly polished sculptural furnishings, via his architectural designs and mass produced pieces. The show also features a dramatic installation made from cutting edge LED technology which really needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated.
I consider this show a real 'must see', I was slightly dubious about whether it would impress but had no need to worry. The work is diverse and truly stunning and the wealth of support information and the planning of the exhibition is exemplary.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank The Barbican Art Centre for inviting me :)

Monsieur Qui

A French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, handmade works, brass bands and pastes up big posters among the streets of Paris.
Monsieur Qui's style has a hint of works I remember as a child; while pouring through my parent's collection of design magazines.

Interesting and a little bit chaotic - there's nothing wrong with that though is there ;)

Digital Blackbook
A collection of un-curated gestural data captured via bespoke software by Evan Roth.
Elegantly simplistic yet mesmerising... similar to some of the work by the Graffiti Research Lab.

Hippie House

Some really nice techniques displayed in this refreshing showreel.
There's a couple of snippets using abstract forms that are simply gorgeous - sadly they are over far too quickly!

Ubuntu

Apologies for the serious lack of posts recently. It's been due in part to lots of change going on in my life and I have needed some time to adjust...
The high point has been my appointment as Visual Design Lead at Ubuntu and Canonical. Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers.
One facet of my job remit is to take Ubuntu to a point where it can be a serious contender alongside Microsoft and Apple. I am very privileged to be working with a diverse team of extremely talented individuals and I have every confidence that given a little time we will achieve our goal and that will just be the start...
