Monsieur Qui

Monsieur Qui

A French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, handmade works, brass bands and pastes up big posters among the streets of Paris.

Monsieur Qui's style has a hint of works I remember as a child; while pouring through their collection of design magazines.

Samurai Jazz Quintet

Experimental video created for the Samurai Jazz Quintet by Takafumi Tsuchiya.

Interesting and a little bit chaotic - there's nothing wrong with that though is there ;)

Digital Blackbook

A collection of un-curated gestural data captured via bespoke software by Evan Roth.

Elegantly simplistic yet mesmerising... similar to some of the work by the Graffiti Research Lab.

Hippie House

Hippie House

Some really nice techniques displayed in this refreshing showreel.

There's a couple of snippets using abstract forms that are simply gorgeous - sadly they are over far too quickly!

All That Is Solid

Under a violent irruption of forms and structures, everything flows towards a constant evolution. A visual and poetic journey influenced by art, design, architecture and photography.

I was pleasantly surprised to find updates to this already solid portfolio. Particularly impressed with the Opera rebranding and the Titan project.

Ubuntu

Ubuntu

Apologies for the serious lack of posts recently. It's been due in part to lots of change going on in my life and I have needed some time to adjust...

The high point has been my appointment as Visual Design Lead at Ubuntu and Canonical. Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers.

One facet of my job remit is to take Ubuntu to a point where it can be a serious contender alongside Microsoft and Apple. I am very privileged to be working with a diverse team of extremely talented individuals and I have every confidence that given a little time we will achieve our goal and that will just be the start...

Hana Screensaver

Hana screensaver now available for OSX intel.

Hana is a dream about flowers for computers. The idea is that no aspect of creating the flowers is hidden from the computers, everything is created in code and no bitmaps are used that the computer has not seen to the creation of itself, letting the computer "think" through every step.

I've known Andreas for some time now and his work never fails to blow my sock off!

Microsoft Sustainability

Beautifully composed scenarios with some lovely examples of intelligent infographics and human computer interaction.

I'm not a great advocate of Microsoft products but if they start making some of these concepts reality then maybe I might be swayed...
