Nanikawa

Nanikawa

This offshoot from Hi-Res have created some stunning work. As far as I'm aware it's still run by the ultra talented Andreas Müller - who I haven't seen for ages. You can see more of his work at Hahakid.

This Is Sand

This Is Sand

Feeling tense? Find relaxation with this clever and well-coded Flash app. It allows you to create images reminiscent of those kitsch sand paintings you used to find in dodgy seaside towns ;-)

Science Under Fire

Science Under Fire

I haven't visited here since the launch of the second version site, there's some slick new work on display and a new blog too. I'm very curious about the Titan project - looks interesting...

Papervision 3D 2007 Showreel

Mind-blowing 3D plugin for Flash, only wish we had had this kind of stuff back in the day - we had to program it by hand, and it was absolutely nothing like this good!

Aeform

Aeform

There are some nice images in here, but what I really love are the glowing molecular forms on the homepage, they're randomly generated and totally mesmerising - would make a lovely screensaver.

oScope Visual Search

oScope

Slick! You can run refined searches on Amazon, eBay, Flickr and YouTube with this, then display and filter the results in an array of intuitive formats - all within a very nicely put together dynamic Flash environment.

I was just looking for some orchid imagery with it and this really accelerates the browsing and discovery experience...

Halo 3 Believe

Halo 3 Believe

This is incredible, probably the best piece of diorama model making I've ever seen. It reminds me a little bit of the piece "Hell" by Jake and Dinos Chapman. The site is suitably atmospheric and the overlaid interface elements just add to the exquisite detail of the backdrop. I played both Halo 1 and 2 to legendary and might have to consider buying an Xbox 360 just so I can complete the trilogy!

V2KD Issue 04

V2KD Issue 04

Clean site with a nice selection of vector and pixel based abstracts. The previous three issues are worth a quick look too, but it's a shame you can't enlarge the images.

Great minimal portfolio site, which comprises a varied portfolio with some stunning examples of illustrative typography. I particularly like the way the navigation works once a few of the entries are open, it's so simple and intuitive.

Dote Design

Loving the carousel interface here, especially the way you can throw it back and forth (with motion blur) using the mouse scroll wheel. My only negative comment is that I don't think the typography does it justice - the font is tiny.

This is interesting - I played around with it for a while, but got frustrated that it wasn't giving much away. After a quick search I discovered it's actually a viral campaign for one of Nokia's new phones - the N81.
