Science Under Fire

Science Under Fire

I was pleasantly surprised to find updates to this already solid portfolio. Particularly impressed with the Opera rebranding and the Titan project.

Great to see that Gmunk is still rocking work of the highest quality.

A preview of part of one of Joshua Davis's presentations on the theme of 'Space' - some 'lovely to watch' generative experiments using bezier curves.

Think this has been around for a little while, although I have only just come across it.

Vai Avanti

Strangely mesmerising - like flying over rolling hills.

Randomly discovered the work of Rafaël Rozendaal. A bit hit and miss, but I do like the way each piece resides under its own URL.

Auditorium

Auditorium

Auditorium is about the process of discovery and play. Guide the flow (a stream of audio visual particles) that will create sound when directed over the audio container of their color. There are no right or wrong answers: there are many ways to solve each puzzle.

I spent over an hour playing with this...

Papervision Augmented Reality

Very exciting experiment made with Papervision and Flash by the talented guys at Boffswana.

I had no idea this could be done within Flash now. I can imagine all kinds of applications (especially games) and what if this kind of technology was available on your mobile.

You can try it out yourself by following the link. You need to print out their symbol though for registration, but I got away with just drawing one with a fat black marker!

This Is Sand

This Is Sand

Feeling tense? Find relaxation with this clever and well-coded Flash app. It allows you to create images reminiscent of those kitsch sand paintings you used to find in dodgy seaside towns ;-)

oScope

Slick! You can run refined searches on Amazon, eBay, Flickr and YouTube with this, then display and filter the results in an array of intuitive formats - all within a very nicely put together dynamic Flash environment.

I was just looking for some orchid imagery with it and this really accelerates the browsing and discovery experience...

Halo 3 Believe

Halo 3 Believe

This is incredible, probably the best piece of diorama model making I've ever seen. It reminds me a little bit of the piece "Hell" by Jake and Dinos Chapman. The site is suitably atmospheric and the overlaid interface elements just add to the exquisite detail of the backdrop. I played both Halo 1 and 2 to legendary and might have to consider buying an Xbox 360 just so I can complete the trilogy!

Dote Design

Loving the carousel interface here, especially the way you can throw it back and forth (with motion blur) using the mouse scroll wheel. My only negative comment is that I don't think the typography does it justice - the font is tiny.

This is interesting - I played around with it for a while, but got frustrated that it wasn't giving much away. After a quick search I discovered it's actually a viral campaign for one of Nokia's new phones - the N81.
