A French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, handmade works, brass bands and pastes up big posters among the streets of Paris.

Monsieur Qui's style has a hint of works I remember as a child; while pouring through my parent's collection of design magazines.

The StolenSpace Christmas group show will be literally filled to the brim with new works from over 30 represented artists, plus a few new faces as a small taster of what is to come in 2009. Doors open tonight until the 21st December.

I saw them setting up yesterday - looks like it'll be a good one.

Insa Heels

Well-known graffiti artist Insa has just gone into production with a delectable range of ladies high heels. These were first seen as hand-customised originals displayed at some of his earlier shows.

Homeworld 2 Concept Art

Stumbled across this collection of concept illustrations for the old game Homeworld 2 (heavily inspired by the legendary Chris Foss). How some of the marker renders convey so loosely the structure and texture of the ships is amazing.

Jonathan Puckeye and Jürg Lehni's stunning image treatment that utilises image vectorisation and colour averaging. Amazing output considering its simplicity.

Hajime Sorayama

For me, this man defined 80's airbrush chic and holds the title 'Creator of the Sexy Robot'. The quality of his work is truly outstanding - especially when you consider that everything was done by hand.

There's a lot of other beautiful artwork on display, but be aware that most of it is far from 'work safe' ;-).

Ndeur

There's some really nice illustration work in here, but I particularly love Ndeur's gorgeously customised high heels. If you're tempted to surprise the lady in your life, have a look in his Etsy shop.

Qube Konstrukt

Great portfolio, especially some of the motion graphics - which can be viewed in their current showreel. I particularly like this bit of model making for the Next Wave Festival, it's nice to see people successfully combining traditional and digital skills.

They also have a self-published book called Consort that is available here - I have ordered myself a copy =)

Laser engraved moleskins - great for personalising your own ideas book or as a gift for that creative friend of yours. There are some lovely designs already available, but if they're not to your taste you can always create your own (which I might well have a go at).
