Ron Arad

Ron Arad: Restless explores three decades of Arad’s work from his early post-punk approach to his highly polished sculptural furnishings, via his architectural designs and mass produced pieces. The show also features a dramatic installation made from cutting edge LED technology which really needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated.

I consider this show a real 'must see', I was slightly dubious about whether it would impress but had no need to worry. The work is diverse and truly stunning and the wealth of support information and the planning of the exhibition is exemplary.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank The Barbican Art Centre for inviting me :)

Microsoft Sustainability

Beautifully composed scenarios with some lovely examples of intelligent infographics and human computer interaction.

I'm not a great advocate of Microsoft products but if they start making some of these concepts reality then maybe I might be swayed...

Igarashi Design

Beautiful and unbelievably realistic vehicle design. The quality of the modeling and textures is exceptional - if only they were real!

The new IDEO site has launched.

I really like the re-design: it feels interesting and exciting, is bursting with information and the usability of the site is very well thought through too.

BMW Gina

Impressive adaptive industrial design and a stunning looking piece of machinery (I wouldn't like to see what the damage would be if someone keyed the side of it though).

Starbucks Quickorder

Well executed iPhone/iPod Touch application that allows the users to purchase their drink without waiting in line.

AF1 Bike - Wilson Brothers

I saw this bike some time ago at The Design Museum and quite simply in my opinion - it's a piece of art. Living in the East End I am becoming quite addicted to the sleek minimal lines of fixed wheel bikes - there's so many gorgeous examples on the streets.

Festo Air Ray

Amazingly graceful prototype, capitalising on the swim motion of the manta ray. I want one (although who has a space big enough to fly it).

Vanity Ring

The ring as a status symbol. It shows the number of Google hits you get, when you search for the name of the person who wears it.

Sony Ericsson P3

A slick concept design for a possible incarnation of the upcoming Sony Ericsson P3. The phone is intended to be Cyber-shot branded, has a 6 mega pixel camera and Carl Zeiss lens with xenon flash. You never know, I might hold off on getting an iPhone if something like this comes out!

There's some gorgeous renders here and the image slideshows are really well implimented.

Pacemaker

Introducing the Pacemaker - The pocket-size DJ system! This has been around for a bit, but the site has been updated recently. Would love to get one of these to play around on, I just hope they hurry up and put it into production :-)
